So grateful to announce that our rainbow 🌈 baby is due this July 🥹. I am 20 weeks already, and there’s a big reason I didn’t announce sooner. Last summer, we lost our baby girl. It was a missed miscarriage, which basically means I carried her for over a month after her heart had stopped beating without realizing it. How could everything feel completely fine when it wasn’t at all? It was a hard loss for our whole family. We named her Alice in hopes that she would have her own forever Wonderland. After the loss, I focused on our family. I was so grateful to have our kids, to have a caring husband who pulled me out of the trenches, what more could I ask for? Through spending time with my family, my laughter started to come back and my heart began to heal. Fast forward to last October, we found out we were pregnant again! My heart was full, but after the loss of Alice, I found myself dealing with a lot of worry and panic. What if something was wrong? What if I lost this baby too and I didn’t realize it? I can’t tell you how much relief I felt when I felt those first tiny movements. I burst into tears. It was all real, this baby was still here.
